Tropical Wonderer Posts: 886 07/24/08 00:08	I lived in Germany years ago and i remember from Chaucer at school that hundreds of years ago, German, English, Dutch and Norwegian were virtually identical - the similarities are not difficult to see - the only word that was quite new to me was getijden and I'm wondering now what it is in German... I love the Dutch accent, softer than the german but best of all is sing-song Norwegian... (sorry... i like their caramel flavoured cheese too. though Gouda and Edam are great also!) hey, damn good poem too!

I speak Dutch, English, German, French and a little bit of Spanish and Latin and I have found many similar sounding/ written words in these languages. I wish I could taste caramel flavored cheese, I love cheese, lol! Didn't you once tell me you have lived near Arnhem too?
